Privacy policy

Privacy, plainly stated.

We keep this short and honest. We collect little, we don't sell it, and you can have it back or gone whenever you like.

Last updated . This page describes how Kyln handles personal data under UK GDPR. It is not a substitute for legal advice.

Who we are

Kyln is a digital design-and-build studio based in London, United Kingdom. For anything in this policy, the controller of your data is Kyln, reachable at contact@kyln.digital.

Kyln is the trading name of Kyln Digital Ltd, registered in Scotland, no. SC869140. Registered office: 1a Southfield Villas, Edinburgh, Scotland, EH15 1JL.

What we collect

Things you send us: your name, email, and whatever you tell us when you fill in the project intake, run the scorecard, book a call, or email us. We only ask for what we need to reply and to do the work.

Site analytics: basic, privacy-respecting usage data, and only after you consent. Essential storage that makes the site work stays on; everything else stays off until you choose otherwise. See the cookie policy for the detail.

Technical logs: the usual server and error logs generated by hosting and auth, kept only as long as needed to run the service securely.

Why we use it, and the lawful basis

To answer you and to deliver work you've asked for (contract, or steps taken at your request before a contract). To run and improve the site (legitimate interests, balanced against your privacy). For optional analytics and marketing storage (consent, which you can withdraw at any time).

Who else sees it

We use a small number of trusted providers to host the site, send email, store form submissions, and run our tooling. They process data on our instructions only, under their own data-protection terms. We don't sell your data, and we don't share it for anyone else's advertising.

Where a provider sits outside the UK, we rely on an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses approved for UK transfers.

How long we keep it

Only as long as we need it: for the life of our working relationship and a reasonable period after, or until you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first. Enquiries that don't become projects are cleared out periodically. Server and error logs are retained for a short operational window.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask to see, correct, export, or delete your data, and object to or restrict how we use it. Email contact@kyln.digital and we'll action it. If you're not happy with how we've handled things, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update it here and revise the date above. For anything you're unsure about, ask us.
