A reverse marketplace for cars and private plates

A marketplace where people buy and sell cars and private plates directly: list a vehicle they are looking for, receive offers, counter, and settle the deal in one place.

The WNTD marketplace on a tablet: list a car or private plate you want, receive offers, counter and settle.

The problem

Buying a car or a private plate privately means scrolling listings that are not what you want, negotiating over text, and paying someone you do not know. The market works the wrong way around: you hunt for what someone else happens to be selling.

There is no single place to say what you actually want, collect offers, negotiate, and settle the deal.

What we built

WNTD is a reverse marketplace for cars and number plates. A buyer lists what they want; sellers respond with offers; counters and settlement happen in a negotiation centre. It is a full-stack Next.js build.

Reverse listings
A buyer posts what they are looking for, rather than hunting for what is for sale.
Offers and counters
Sellers respond with offers, and counters settle in a dedicated negotiation centre.
DVLA integration
Private-plate listings tie into DVLA data.
Payments and checkout
The deal settles in one place, without handing the buyer off to anyone else.
Listings and reviews
Sellers and listings carry reviews, so reputation follows the person.
Next.js full-stack
One full-stack build covering the listing, negotiation and payment layers.

The point of a reverse marketplace is that the buyer stops searching. The product had to carry the whole journey, or it carried none of it.

The result

A live product. The whole journey, list, offer, counter and pay, sits in one place, without handing the buyer off to anyone else.
